India and Nepal are the countries that have become repositories and the frontrunners of Buddhism in the entire world. Both the countries saw the birth and evolution of Prince Siddhartha as Buddha who elevated the troubles, pains and sufferings of people through his ultimate knowledge and enlightenment in Bodhgaya. From here, he began his knowledgeable journey of uplifting his followers through his discourses and miracles. Sankasia, where he descended back to earth from heaven, Rajgir where he tamed Nalagiri, the mad elephant and Vaishali where monkeys served Buddha the bowl of honey present many miracles of Lord that happened here. At Kushinagar, he attained final Mahaparinirvana and reiterated the reality of life that is death. India Nepal Buddhist Tour is a journey across the cities, towns and villages closely associated with the legends and stories of Lord Buddha’s life. In fact, this 12 day tour covers up almost every location deeply connected with life of Lord Buddha.
Day 1, Arrival Delhi

Upon arrival at Delhi International Airport, meet Buddhist Train tour representative who will assist your transfer to the hotel for overnight stay.
Day 2, Delhi / Agra

After breakfast, begin the morning drive to Agra (5 hr /203 km). Check-in at Hotel. Later, visit the world famous monument and a testimony to love, Taj Mahal and experience the majesty the Mughals were known for. Later visit Agra Fort during India Nepal Buddhist Tour. Overnight in Agra.
Day 3, Agra / Sankasia / Lucknow

Check out Agra for a drive to Lucknow (5 hr / 410 km). Enroute visit Sankasia where Lord descended from heaven after giving sermon to his mother. Later, continue the drive to Lucknow, the city of refined etiquettes. Upon arrival, check-in at hotel in Lucknow.
Day 4, Lucknow / Varanasi

Early morning, drive to Varanasi (5 hrs / 300 kms). Check-in at Hotel. Noon is free for shopping etc. Overnight stay in Varanasi.
Day 5, Varanasi / Sarnath / Bodhgaya

Early morning, begin exploring Varanasi through a Boat ride on River Ganges and see the bathing Ghats. Check out from Varanasi and visit Sarnath (where Buddha delivered his first sermon) and pray in front of Chaukhandi and Dhamekh Stupa. Continue the drive to Bodhgaya (3 hr /243 km), the place of Lord Buddha’s enlightenment. Check-in at hotel upon arrival and rest of the day is free at leisure. Overnight stay in Bodhgaya.
Day 6, Bodhgaya

In morning, visit Mahabodhi Temple & Bodhi Tree and other local attractions associated with Buddha – The Great Buddha Statue, Niranjana River, Sujata Temple, etc. Also visit various other Buddhist Temples in Bodhgaya during India Nepal Buddhist Tour. Overnight stay in Bodhgaya.
Day 7, Bodhgaya / Rajgir / Nalanda / Bodhgaya

Morning check out Bodhgaya for Rajgir and Nalanda (220 km/ approx 6-7 hr drive). Visit Rajgir’s Buddhist attractions through the Griddhakutta or Vulture Hill, World Peace Stupa and Bamboo's Garden. Continue to Nalanda and visit the ruins of world oldest university and the international center for Buddhist learning. Later continue drive to Patna (1 hr 20 min / 77 km) & check-in at Hotel. Overnight stay in Patna.
Day 8, Bodhgaya / Vaishli / Kushinagar

Drive to Vaishali ( 4 hr / 249 km) where Lord Buddha received a bowl of honey from monkeys and even announced his impending Mahaparinirvana. Later continue the journey to Kushinagar. Upon arrival transfer to Kushinagar for overnight stay.
Day 9, Kushinagar / Lumbini

Visit Mahaparinirvana Temple where Buddha took his last breath; Rambhar Stupa which was cremation site of Lord Buddha and Japanese Temple in Kushinagar. Afternoon drive to Lumbini in Nepal (5 hrs / 170 km). While going to Lumbini, stop at India/Nepal border for Visa/Immigration formalities. Later check-in at hotel. 15 Min. drive from the Nepal Border. Noon visit Lumbini, the birth place of Lord Buddha. Overnight stay at Lumbini.
Day 10, Lumbini / Kapil Vastu / Sravasti

After breakfast, begin drive in morning for Sravasti (5 hrs / 160 km). Enroute visit Kapilavastu, the kingdom where Buddha’s childhood was spent & also visit ruins of the Palaces. Later, continue drive to Sravasti & on arrival check-in at hotel. Later visit Sravasti, where Lord Buddha spent his 24 monsoons. Visit Jetvana monastery ruins, Ananda Bodhi Tree and Sahet Mahet. Overnight stay at Sravasti.
Day 11, Sravasti / Lucknow / Delhi

Drive 195 km/ 5-6 hrs to Lucknow. Thereafter, transfer to Railway station to board Shatabdi Express to Delhi, Dep. 15:35 hrs. Arrive Delhi 22:05 hrs. Dinner will be served on Board and transfer to Hotel. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 12, Delhi / Departure

After breakfast visit the city of Delhi including a visit to Lakshmi Narayan temple and Gandhi Museum. Drive past India Gate, President House or Rashtrapati Bhawan, the Government buildings and the Parliament house "Lok Sabha" Lunch at local restaurant. After lunch, transfer to Airport to connect flight for onward destination.
