Indian Buddhist Tour

Indian Buddhist Tour is a joyful discovery of Buddhist heritage ingrained in India. From Kolkata, the journey moves to the epicenter of Buddhism - Bodhgaya, Rajgir or ancient Rajagriha, the site of first sermon in Sarnath near Varanasi, Kushinagar - the site of final Mahaparinirvana, Lumbini, the site of his birth and Sravasti, the site of Jetavana shelters.

Day 01 : Arrive Kolkata

Upon arrival in Kolkata by a scheduled International Flight, meet Buddhist train tour representative who will assist transfer to the hotel. Overnight in Kolkata.

Day 02 : Kolkata-Bodhgaya (B/L/D)

After breakfast, continue the sightseeing of Kolkata, the city of joys and intelligence. First visit Victoria Memorial, the prominent tourist attraction housing a museum complex in Kolkata. Later visit the iconic Kalighat Kali Temple and Missionaries of Charity, the non profit center established by Mother Teresa. On schedule, transfer to Railway Station to board connecting Train to Gaya. Overnight on Board.

Day 03 : Bodhgaya (B/L/D)

Early morning transfer from Gaya Railway Station to Bodhgaya, one of the holiest Buddhist pilgrimage centres. It was here that Gautama attained enlightenment and became Lord Buddha under the "Bodhi" tree. After some free time in leisure, visit the Mahabodhi Temple built by Ashoka the Great in 3rd Century BC and the sacred Bodhi tree. In evening, take a round of Bodhgaya and visit the famous monasteries of the city. Overnight stay in Bodhgaya.

Day 05 : Bodhgaya-Varanasi (B/L/D)

Early morning after breakfast proceed for Varanasi, the spiritual center of Buddhist India. On arrival, check into hotel. In afternoon, continue the excursion to Sarnath, the principle centre of Buddhist India. It was here around 530 B.C that Buddha preached his first sermon after gaining enlightenment. Overnight stay in Varanasi.

Day 06 : Varanasi-Kushinagar (B/L/D)

Early morning begin boat ride on River Ganges and witness the beautiful sunrise as a backdrop to the lifeline of India, River Ganges. After breakfast, leave Varanasi for Kushinagar. On arrival in Kushinagar, check into hotel. In afternoon, continue the sightseeing of Kushinagar. Visit Ramabhar stupa built on the spot where the body of the Lord was cremated. Also visit Mahaparinirvana Temple where the large recumbent figure of Buddha in the state of Nirvana is enshrined. Overnight in Kushinagar.

Day 07 : Kushinagar-Lumbini-Sravasti (B/L/D)

After breakfast, proceed for Sravasti. Enroute visit Lumbini in Nepal, the place where Buddha was born. An ancient shrine with an image representing the nativity of India Buddhist Tour is still preserved. Continue your drive to Sravasti. On arrival, check into Hotel for overnight.

Day 08 : Sravasti-Lucknow-Delhi Depart (B/L/D)

Morning visit Sravasti (Sahet-Mahet), capital of the ancient Kingdom of Kosala, which was and stillis an active centre for Buddhism. After sightseeing proceed to Lucknow. On arrival Lucknow transfer to Airport to connect Flight for Delhi. On arrival Delhi Domestic Airport City tour of Delhi & after Dinner transfer to Apt to connect flight for onward destination visit India Buddhist Tour.
