Day 1, Delhi - Gaya (990 kms)( Mahaparinirvana train Tour)
17:30 hrs - Assemble at the Delhi Safdurjung Railway Station. Traditional Welcome and check – in to your respective coaches.

Day 2, Gaya – Bodhgaya (16 kms) (Mahaparinirvana train Tour)
06:30 hrs – Early morning tea, Wash & Change & breakfast on board.
08:30 hrs - Arrive at Gaya. Disembark the train and assemble for boarding the coaches for road journey to Bodhgaya for sightseeing of Bodhgaya including Mahabodhi Temple & Niranjana River of .
12:30 hrs – Check in at hotel, lunch and relax till tea time.
16:00 hrs – Proceed for sightseeing of Thai Temple, Japanese Temple and Buddha Statue during the tour Buddhist Places in India.

Day 5, Varanasi – Khajuraho
After breakfast short sightseeing of Varanasi (if time permit) & transfer to airport to connect flight for Khajuraho (Jet Airways /Indian Airlines/Kingfisher Airlines) . On arrival transfer to hotel. Free for own activities.

Day 6, In Khajuraho

Day 7, Khajuraho – Orchha – Jhansi - Agra
After breakfast drive to Jhansi.( Apprx 190 Kms / 04 Hrs drive) enroute visit to Orchha .On arrival in Jhansi Railway Station o connect train to Agra ( By NDLS Shatabdi 2001 : Dep 1755 Hrs /Arr 2025 Hrs) .On arrival transfer to hotel.

Day 8, Agra – Fatehpur Sikri – Jaipur (232Kms / Approx. drive time 05 hours)
After breakfast city tour of Agra. Visit the world famous Taj Mahal built by Shah Jahan in 1630 in memory of his queen Mumtaz Mahal to enshrine her mortal remains. This architectural marvel is a perfectly proportioned masterpiece fashioned from white marble that stands testimony to the skill of 20,000 craftsmen brought together from Persia, Turkey, France and Italy and who took 17 year to complete this ' Love Poem in Marble'. (Taj Mahal remains closed on all Fridays) Later visit the Agra fort containing the halls private and public audiences and other palaces from Buddhist Places in India.
Afternoon leave Agra for Jaipur by surface. Enroute visiting Fatehpur Sikri.
Fatehpur Sikri, located 40 Km from Agra, the deserted city of Fatehpur Sikri was built by Emperor Akbar in 1570, in honor of the great Saint Sheikh Salim Chisti who blessed Akbar and prophesized the birth of three sons to the heirless Emperor. Akbar used Fatehpur Sikri as his capital and the city was fully occupied for 14 years but slowly became deserted and ruined after Akbar left the city. Scarcity of water was the prime factor for the abandonment of this beautiful city. Visit the remarkably well-preserved, graceful buildings within the 'Ghost City' including the Jama Masjid, tomb of Salim Chisti, Panch Mahal Palace and other places during tour of Buddhist Places in India that speak of the grandeur and splendor of the Mughal empire at the height of its power.
Continue overland journey to Jaipur. On arrival, check into the hotel.

Day 9, In Jaipur
After breakfast visit to Amer Fort .Amber is a classic, romantic Rajasthani Fort Palace. The rugged, time-ravaged walls of the Fort may not look beautiful from the outside, but the interior is a virtual paradise. Miniatures painted on the walls depict hunting and war scenes, apart from festivals. Precious stones and mirrors are embedded into the plaster. Inside the Fort visit the Jag Mandir or the Hall of Victory. Inside the Jag Mandir is the famed Sheesh Mahal - a room with all the four walls and ceiling completely embedded with glittering mirror pieces, which were specially imported from Belgium during that period. Enroute to Amber Fort, you will have a brief photography stop at Hawa Mahal - the famous Buddhist Places in India of Winds.
Afternoon city tour begins with a visit to the Maharaja's city Palace, the former Royal residence part of it converted into a museum. A small portion is still used by the Royal family of Jaipur. Built in the style of a fortified campus, the palace covers almost one-seventh in area of the city. One of the major attractions in the museum is the portion known as Armoury Museum housing an impressive array of weaponry-pistols, blunderbusses, flintlocks, swords, rifles and daggers. The royal families of Jaipur once used most of these weapons. Later visit the Jantar Mantar, which is the largest stone and marble crafted observatory in the world. Situated near the gate of the city palace, the observatory has 17 large instruments, many of them still in working condition.

Day 10, Jaipur - Delhi ( 252 Kms / Approx. drive time 05 Hrs.)
After breakfast drive to Delhi. On arrival in Delhi transfer to hotel.
Afternoon visit New Delhi which includes visit to Qutub MInar- It was the first monument of muslim rule in India. It is a marvel in itself and depicts the history of Indian culture. It is made in Indo-Islamic style. Humayun’s Tomb – This magnificent garden tomb is the first substantial example of Mughal architecture in India. It was built in 1562 A.D.nine years after the death of Humayun, by his senior widow Bega Begam. Inside the walled enclosure the most notable feature are the garden squares (chaharbagh) with pathways water channels, centrally located well proportional mausoleum topped by double dome.
India Gate – Built as a memorial to commemorate the 70,000 India soldiers killed in World War I, India Gate was designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens and completed in 1931. The gate is 160 feet high with an arch of 138 feet. and drive past President and Parliament House.

Day 11, Departure from Delhi
Breakfast at hotel. Morning visit Old Delhi with visit to the Rajghat ( Cremation site of Mahatma Gandhi ), drive past Red Fort It is a reminder of India's glorious past. The fort is Shah Jehan's symbol of power and elegance, Built behind red sandstone walls. Its main gate (Lahore Gate) faces Chandni Chowk, the perpetually congested avenue-heading west from the Red Fort, is filled with twisting lanes, small streets and Crowded Bazaars. Also visit Jama Masjid -It is an imposing mosque built by Shah Jahan in 1656 in Mughal style of architecture. This splendid structure boasts of being the largest and most exquisite mosque in India. Built in yellow sandstone, this grand tower is five storied each one possessing a distinct balcony. Afternoon free for last minute shopping. Evening transfer to International airport to connect flight for onward destination. |
