Buddhist Temple with Golden Triangle Tour is an abridged attempt to explore the Buddhist heritage ingrained in India. Beginning with the most famous Indian route, Golden Triangle including Delhi – Agra and Jaipur, the tour ventures into the quaint city, Varanasi for a visit to Sarnath, one of the important pilgrimage centers of Buddhism. The second important pilgrimage enroute is Bodhgaya, the site of Buddha’s enlightenment. The third site of a Buddhist Temple with Golden Triangle Tour is Rajgir and Nalanda, having close contacts with the life of Buddha. The journey continues in Mahaparinirvana Temple, Kushinagar, the site of Buddha’s final Mahaparinirvana and Mayadevi Temple in Lumbini, the place of his birth.
Day 1, Arrival Delhi

Upon arrival at Delhi Airport, meet the Buddhist Train tour representative who will assist your transfers to the hotel for overnight stay.
Day 2, Delhi

After breakfast, begin the sightseeing tour of Delhi via a visit to old Delhi. This is a 16th century walled city laid out by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan. This walled city is characterized by splendid gates, narrow alleys, enormous markets and mosques. Explore old Delhi with a visit to Red Fort, Jama Masjid, Chandni Chowk and Raj Ghat (cremation site of Mahatma Gandhi). Afternoon continue exploring the 101 year old New Delhi laid out by a British architect Edward Lutyens to commemorate the shifting of capital from Calcutta to Delhi. The wild tree lined avenues, park and fountains surrounding the government buildings add on to the elegance in the heart of the city. Visit Jantar Mantar, India Gate and President House. Later continue visiting the Humayun Tomb and Qutab Minar to gain a new perspective about Delhi. In the evening, visit Buddhist Temples and Sites of Delhi. Overnight stay in Delhi.
Day 3, Delhi / Jaipur ( 250 kms / apprx 05 hrs drive)

In morning drive to Jaipur; upon arrival check into hotel. Afternoon continue Jaipur city tour via a visit to City Palace featuring a museum with rare manuscript, Rajput and Mughal paintings and an armoury, Hawa Mahal and Jantar Mantar observatory, built in 1726. Later enjoy the drive past to Albert Hall, Ram Niwas and Birla temple complex. Overnight at hotel.
Day 4,Jaipur

Morning visit the mesmerizing Amber Fort coupled with elephant ride up to the Fort. Amber Fort is 12 km from Jaipur and was built in the 18th century by Maharaja Jai Singh II, on the outskirts of Jaipur. Afternoon is free at leisure or an optional ride to the colourful local markets or Jaipuri Bazaars can be availed. Overnight at hotel.
Day 5, Jaipur / Fatehpur Sikri / Agra

After breakfast drive to Agra via Fatehpur Sikri. Fatehpur Sikri, a red sandstone deserted city built by Akbar around 1570 to commemorate the birth of his son, is probably the halls, palaces and mosque are still in a state of perfection as are the tomb of Salim Chisti and the Buland Darwaza. Akbar used the highest quality craftsmen to construct the city only to abandon it some years later because water supply failed. On arrival Agra check in at hotel. Afternoon you may visit the local markets in the city. Overnight at hotel.
Day 6, Agra overnight train to Varanasi

In the morning, begin city tour of Agra visiting the Taj Mahal, Agra Fort and Sikendra Fort. The Taj Mahal was built during 1630-1653 by Emperor Shah Jahan as a memorial in white marble to his queen Mumtaz Mahal. Taj Mahal is one of the seven wonders of the world and the greatest love stories ever written with white marble and precious stones.

Agra Fort was built by Akbar in 1565 and this rusty red sandstone fort stands like a crescent on the bank of Yamuna River. It is one of the finest forts in India and is a silent witness to the numerous palaces, pavilions and buildings which echo the story of the Mughal Empire. Also visit Sikendra Fort and Buddhist Temples and Sites. Later transfer to railway station to connect overnight train to Varanasi.
Day 7, Agra - Varanasi

Arrive Varanasi Tour in the morning. Check into hotel. Later visit Sarnath about 10 kms from the holy city of Varanasi - is the blessed locale where more than 2500 years ago Buddha chose to deliver his first sermon. Overnight in Varanasi.
Day 8, Varanasi

The timeless city, Varanasi is one of the most important Pilgrimage sites in India dedicated to Lord Shiva and Goddess Sati. Located on the banks of the sacred Ganges, Varanasi is named by conjoining the names of two rivers, Varuna and Assi. This city is a great center for learning and civilization since time immemorial and popularly this glorious city is known as Kashi and Banaras.

Begin early morning the boat ride on the mighty river Ganges to see the divine sunrise and the rituals alongside the bathing Ghats of this ancient Hindu city. Thereafter, visit the Bharat Mata Temple, where a physical relief map of India is worshipped instead of a deity or idol. Continue exploring Varanasi through Banaras Hindu University, the largest residential university not only in India, but in Asia. Explore Varanasi further with a visit to Kashi Vishwanath Temple, around which the city is laid out and sense the serene soul of this city. Return to hotel for overnight stay.
Day 9,Varanasi - Bodhgaya

Next morning, begin the journey for the important Buddhist temples and sites in Bodhgaya from Varanasi (247 km / 6 hr). Check into hotel. In the evening, attend the prayers in the Mahabodhi Temple. Overnight in Bodhgaya.
Day 10, Bodhgaya

The next day is free to explore various Buddhist temples. Visit Great Buddha Statue, Niranjana River, Sujata Temple etc during Buddhist Temple with Golden Triangle Tour. Overnight at Hotel.
Day 11, Bodhgaya - Rajgir - Nalanda - Patna

Early morning leave Bodhgaya for Rajgir (74 km / 2 hr). Visit Rajgir, famous as the ancient capital of Magadha Empire and many Buddhist temple attractions. Famous among them is the Vulture Hill or Griddhakuta where Lord Buddha delivered numerous discourses, World Peace Stupa or Japanese Shanti Stupa, Bamboo's Garden, etc. Then continue to Nalanda (18 km) and visit the ruins of world oldest multidiscipline university and the International Centre for Buddhist learning. Thereafter, drive to Patna (76 km / 2 hr). On arrival check in at hotel for overnight at Patna.
Day 12, Patna - Vaishali - Kushinagar

Begin early morning with a drive to Kushinagar (approx 253 km / 7 hr) with packed lunch enroute visiting Vaishali. On arrival, check-in at hotel. In afternoon, visit the Mahaparinirvana Temple where Buddha took his last breath and Rambhar Stupa (cremation site of Lord Buddha) and Japanese Temple. Pray in front of the ailing Buddha and contemplate about the reality of life, which is death in Kushinagar. Overnight at hotel.
Day 13, Kushinagar / Lumbini

After breakfast, drive to Lumbini in Nepal (170 km / approx 04 hr drive). While going to Lumbini, stop at the India / Nepal border for Visa/Immigration formalities. Later check-in at Hotel. Visit Lumbini, the sacred birthplace of Lord Buddha famous for Mayadevi temple, Pushkarni Pond and inscribed Ashokan Pillar, which is the prime reason why Lumbini was recognized as a world heritage site. Overnight at hotel.
Day 14, Lumbini / Sravasti - Overnight train to Delhi

Morning after, breakfast drive to Kapilvastu (10 km) and then continue to Sravasti (150 km). On arrival, check in at hotel. In afternoon, visit Sahet Mahet (capital of the ancient Kosala kingdom famous for Jetawana Gardens where Lord Buddha spent 24 monsoon retreats and delivered numerous discourses. Later transfer to Balarampur railway station 19 km from Sravasti to connect overnight train to Delhi.
Day 15, Delhi - Transfer to onward destination

Arrive Delhi and transfer to international airport to connect flight for onward destination.
